Intro to Percentages
A percentage is a part out of a hundred: 25% is a quarter of the whole and 20% is a fifth, so 75% of 44 is 33 and 60% of 110 is 66.

Working out Percentages
To find a percentage in quarters or fifths, divide by 4 or 5 and take that many parts: 75% of 72 is 72 ÷ 4 × 3 = 54.

A battery's percentage is the share of its full running time that is left: 75% of 800 minutes is 600 minutes.
